SWT-5kw pitch wind turbine is the first down-wind centrifugal force controlled passive variable pitch wind turbine system designed and manufactured by SENWEI Energy company that follows BWEA standard. It meets IEC61400-2 (ClassⅡ) design requirements for small wind turbine and obtained MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) Certification in Oct 2012. SWT-5kw pitch controlled wind turbine is one of the variable pitch wind turbine series supplied by SENWEI together with 2kW, 10kW, 20kW and 30kW. SWT-5KW variable pitch controlled wind turbine is composed of pitch blade, permanent magnet generator, rotary body(including the slip ring and mechanical braking device), tower, braking switch,electric controller, battery bank, inverter, cable, etc. It has adopted the mechanical variable blade pitch technology. When the blade is static, it can be started easily; as soon as the wind speed reached 3m/s, the rotor will begin to rotate. Within the wind speed of 4-11m/s, driven by the centrifugal force, the blade will change it’s position gradually, tracking the relative high lift over drag ratio for the better running efficiency; When the blade is rotating fast, the centrifugal hammer will draw the blade backward towards it’s original position, keeping the blade running with the rated speed, the maximum rotation speed would be no more than 280r/min.

Downwind type, without tail vane.All of the exposed components have experienced a long effecting anti-corrosion treatment to protecting the exposed parts in open air.

Purpose:
Off-grid small wind turbine system: the power generated by the turbine will be converted and charged by controller into the battery bank, and this will power the load:such as lighting,household appliance, dynamic equipment by an inverter.

On-grid small wind turbine system: the power generated by the turbine will be converted by controller and feed back to the grid system through an on-grid inverter.

l Structure Dimensions

  l Variable Pitch Mechanism: Blade angle is positive 15 degree as factory setting at which the turbine is easy to start spinning. After the turbine getting running ,the angle of blades turns to 0 degree quickly, and the blade acts at its most efficient point (one spring acts). It outputs 5kW electrical power at 11m/s wind speed with 240 rpm rotor rotation speed. If the wind speed increases,the blade is forced to turn towards negative angle by centrifugal hammers to limit rotation speed (two springs act). The springs balance the blades angle and rotation speed while regulating power generating.
